Appraisal

Appraisal for the yr. 2006

All of us were ask write complete the appraisal before CNY. So this time I wrote my appraisal different from all my previous years. You know what! I descided to add on all my projects done for the yr 2006.  Just wanted it to be more interesting, cos, my M can manipulate appraisals and sideline  those he don't like.(no human in his/her right mind would do it. this is the sad truth about him.) Somewhere in april, we would know what he will do, until then, just have to wait.
There are 3 of the M's relatives in the dept, 1(WPL) has achieve his max so working here would be his retirement plan. Just do the job he chooses, cos, he won't go any further, don't have work any harder. (satisfied with it). The M is focusing on the 2nd relative (JNFH), trying his best to justify his promotion, though he is not performing that well ( to me he is doing his routine job, not disturb by anyone he was put in a way he only reports to the M) M writes his appraisal for him to justify his promotion to the senior management.  All he need to do is just sign. In normal case all appraisals are written by individuals not by M. The last relative (FN) did not form to expectation but he will be next in the line for promotion in a couple of years. This is according to the M's plan.

Our live in the dept depends on his(M) mercy.  Well, to me, be happy, do my best in everything I do.

Talking about Some incident happened in the dept in Dec 06

Some incident happened in the dept in Dec 06
Hi, This is an account of what happen in my office during my leave last year Dec 06.  I was on leave from 17- 31 dec. During that period some of my colleagues were on leave too. The admin staff who usually at the helpdesk picks up calls when it rings, but on that day she was on urgent leave. There were calls but nobody picks the call and when nobody picks up the call, the call will go to fault control dept. During office hours there are others at the work bench but they usually ignore all calls .

Our workshop main entrance is a security access door as such nobody can just walk in. They have to ring the door bell, and anyone inside the workshop, heard the ring should open the door, but they usually ignore the ring taking it as not their job. ( Those are PL, JN, HS FN)

The instruction by the Manager is, if nobody is at the helpdesk, others must pick the call or answer the door bell.  The fault control dept was not  please to pick the call as it is during office hours and we are suppose to pick calls when the helpdesk phone rings.  They are not please about it, and they made a unpleasant reply to us as nobody answer calls.  The matter was brought to the Manager during the meeting by the Senior Engineer (PA), the manager just made a general statement as staff must answer the call when nobody is at the helpdesk or nearby. He is not so concern about or even reply to the Manager of the fault control dept.

My SE(PL) is always at his desk but never picks any calls or answer the door, he just ignore pretending not to know. He is only concern about those he favours, the rest of them keeps a blind eye and deaf. Now who are the ones he favours, they are JN,HS, FN JA cause JN & FN are his relatives as well as the Manager of the dept. My SE is over paid and under performing and I believe he does not have a job scope as he is the relative of the Manager and protected. He treated me quite badly when he first came in and later he realise that I am quite an important person in the section, he started treating me well. But deep inside inside him he dislikes due to who I am.

It's a surprise that so much authority is given to my Manager and he can abuse it and manipulate the staff who he doesn't like in the dept. This has been going on since the year 2000.  Many capable staffs  has left for other areas as they felt there is favouritism in my dept.

My manager seem to dislike some of the staff as they were employed by the previous managment and I am one of them.

This is one of the many daily incidences we experience.
